Implementing Simplistic Metrics that monitor police-citizen interactions (vehicle investigations, pedestrian encounters, and use of force incidents) for racial bias and disparate impacts.

Examining agency practices with vulnerable populations to determine if, when, and how they should interact with people experiencing mental health crises, homelessness, and substance use disorder. A variety of approaches exist for each of these vulnerable populations. Our experts will help to evaluate which are best for your community.

Conducting thorough reviews of agency policy and practice to ensure that they represent the core idea that “Human life is to be valued above all else.” (Use of force, policing protests, use of equipment, award structure, etc.)

Creating A Vocal Mijority

Helping the Community establish a voice that cannot be ignored by its elected officials, its police executives, and the community-at-large. This can be accomplished by a small group of individuals committed to being loud—what we at the Bard Advisory Group, LLC, refer to as a “Vocal Mijority” (a small MInority of people who are so boisterous that they sound like a maJORITY). This type of advocacy is powerful and, once established, will serve as a major means of communication between leaders.

Creating A Restorative Understanding

Here at the Bard Advisory Group, LLC, we assist communities with developing a meaningful understanding of how we expect the community to be restored when it is harmed through crime - utilizing dialogue and formalized agreements with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community corrections.
